Review the 2nd webinar of our Joint Action “Smart Universities” and gain insights how you can use humor to enhance creativity and learning results.

With 80 participants coming from 15 different countries, our second webinar on Humor in Distance Teaching was a great success. Review the webinar, which took place on July 1st 2020, and learn how you can effectively incorporate humor into distance teaching.

In this webinar:

  • A team from WU Vienna shared first hand experiences from an award-winning course, in which students develop scripts inspired by late-night comedy (such as John Oliver’s Last Week Tonight).
  • Two esteemed colleagues from the United States, Lisa Stickney and Jim Lemoine, provided insights into how they effectively incorporate humor into their teaching strategies (based on a workshop held in summer 2019 at the Academy of Management’s Annual Meeting in Boston).
  • An improv theatre actor and a radio journalist showed how to develop the right mind-set and how you can help students to become more creative.

What the participants said:

  • “Thank you for the inspiring workshop!”
  • “Instructive, thoughtful, even wise sometimes & funny.”
  • “Super interesting and helpful!”

Share your experiences:

  • You developed and implemented innovative online courses?
  • You would like to share experiences with colleagues from around the world?
  • You want insights into best practices?
  • You would like to co-create the university of the future?

To discuss these questions with lecturers all around the world, we provide a platform for exchange in LIVING INNOVATION. Share your experiences, learn from best practice cases and discuss on strengths and weaknesses of distance teaching. For more details see our Flyer!
